| A party of thirty
people from the British Society of Perfumers gathered
on a dank evening in December 2008 at a restaurant in West London for
the Society's annual Christmas Meal. The event was held at "Pasha Lounge & Restaurant" in Gloucester Road, S.W. London - a venue specialising in Moroccan cuisine. The restaurant was selected by Helen Hill and she is to be congratulated for organising the event and laying the foundation for a truly memorable evening. |

| Entering
the restaurant was like walking into Aladdin's
Cave - seductive atmosphere, low lighting emanating from carved
lanterns, mysterious aromas, intriguing decor & vibrant colours -
all combining into an atmospheric cocktail to swamp the senses. On arrival at the bar we were greeted with a cocktail (a real one this time, rather than the virtual one on entry earlier) which was generously sponsored by S Black. We savoured these flavourful & colourful drinks while we chatted to our fellow diners before being shown to our table for the main event of the evening. |

| The food at Pasha is home style Moroccan cooking, created to share and to be brought to the table in seemingly never-ending episodes of supply. The wine for the evening was kindly sponsored by Augustus Oils and the Society passes its gratitude to Primrose Wilson and her colleagues for their generosity. By way of recompense, Derek Bird introduced some Augustus Oils samples of essential oils from North African origins while Jason seized the opportunity to furtively tuck into the wine which they had kindly donated to the event. The meal consisted of a selection of hot & cold Kemia starter dishes followed by our choice of Meat or Vegetarian Grill. The senses were then mellowed with fresh fruit platters and traditional Moroccan mint (spearmint) tea. | |
| It was around
this time in the evening that a bevy of
Belly Dancers made their appearance - determined to entice a number of
us to wobble our bits in tandem with them - some agreed to attempt the
impossible and some were more adept than others, as the pictures show!!
Our evening had flown by and it was time to wend our ways back home. A wonderful event, enjoyed by all & our sincere thanks to Helen for organising the event and to all those members of the BSP who attended. |
